I'd rather take a dress like that off than put one on. :)

Is there any kind of speculation medics at hospitals won't enter into?

Given that the truck hit the far side of the car and she was apparently the only occupant wearing a seatbelt why is the conclusion not that seat belts are dangerous.

No, there is no speculation that medics won't engage in. They are, by inclination and training, experts in a number of fields, and will apply that knowledge to all areas (as we all tend to do) - with results which are "common" sense, but often utter tosh.
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

Yes. Speculation that helmets or little red dresses perhaps didn't save your life?

So that's why I wear skin-tight Lycra when I'm cycling: not because I'm a pathetic MAMIL wannabee?

I've just ordered a Red Gore Windstopper jacket, I'm hoping that will have the same effect, as the Red Dress would look silly on me. ;)

I always wear the smallest/tightest jackets/leggings I can get away with, I feel soooo vindicated now
