I agree.

There's no checks done. You just register as "unwaged" and that's it.
There doesn't seem to be a definition of "unwaged" either.

The current CTC website gives a definition:

Unwaged Membership : Annual membership for adults who are out of work at the moment

Low-income membership has been suggested in another thread, if you want to see it become a reality talk to your Councillor.

How long is "at the moment"?
What are "wages"?

Very woolly definition, and I would suggest that it isn't a definition at all.

Pedantic head on:
Wages are paid to workers weekly/fortnightly in cash, salaries are paid on an annual basis.
Wages are blue collar, salaries are white collar.

What I didn't realise before is that clicking on "unwaged membership" brings up a pop-up with more details:

CTC unwaged membership is an annual membership for individuals who are currently not in employment and who are aged between 18 and 65.

Cue the debate on the definition of "employment" .

I think they have updated this since I first registered as "Unwaged" with them.

Please note your membership including third party insurance and legal aid cover will not be valid if you are found to be in employment at the time of joining and any subsequent renewals.

Either way, I'm STILL not in employment, no matter what the definition is .................................

I remember some discussion in the press regarding the OAP and millionaires. Why should a millionaire receive his OAP after reaching pension age?
