Can I borrow a Stronglight 23.35 mm crank puller.
Can I borrow a Stronglight 23.35 mm crank puller.
Anybody near Lancaster Lancashire who has a Stronglight 23.35mm crank puller and would be willing to lend it to me for an hour or so? Best wishes.

Dunno about the size, but I bought a crank puller more years ago than I care to contemplate and it fits my Stronglight and also my Campagnolo chainsets. It fitted a Sugino and a Raleigh too all those years ago.
Is the one you want substantially different?

Hi There, I haven't bothered to measure various crank extractors, but if it is to remove a Stronglight 49D crank then it is indeed a different size from others!
Thought they accept TA Cycletouriste rings the actual extractor thread is different. TTFN MM

The size required by the OP is for the earlier Stronglight kit (49D etc)
I gave mine to another forum member some time ago and I'm not in Lancs anyway.
A tool which fits is advertised by Spa.

I see that that's £27-00 + p&p which might explain why the OP hopes to borrow one.

I have a park tool CCP2 puller.
It has 2 different threads on the part that screws into the crank. You remove this part and flip it to use the other thread.
Park don't list the CCP2 anymore so I can't get the spec' for it.
One side screws into my Shimano etc cranks. The other side appears to be very slightly larger.
Would this be 23.35 size ?

You'll never know if you don't try it.

No. The Park tool is 22mm (standard) and 23mm (TA). It will strip the thread out of a pre-1982 Stronglight 23.35mm crank.

The 49D crank removers are non standard. Years ago we used to get a remover included when you bought a set. Of course we lent them out never to see them again, hence the current shortage. Where did they all go to?
TAKE CARE WITH THE 49D's. I broke one, where the pedal screwed in, a year ago. I came off and have a permanent knee injury as a result, which even an operation was unable to repair.

Hi - I'd appreciate it if I could borrow one of these pullers, the new ones are very expensive. I live in Solihull. I've just acquired a 1980 Peugeot and want to take the cranks off to polish them
thanks
