Poc

Post by nez »

Does anyone know of somewhere in Suffolk or Essex with Poc helmets in store? I want to try some on. I've decided I'm willing to wear a helmet to keep my bare head dry in the winter

A quick Google throws up http://www.pocsports.com/en/storelocator

But perhaps something like http://road.cc/content/review/141298-vulpine-thermal-storm-cap would be a more comfortable, portable alternative.

It's a good question. I wouldn't want to wear a helmet but there doesn't seem to be much out there in terms of waterproof, warm, comfy head gear for winter.

Well I sort of agree, but I thought I'd try to kill two birds with one stone by wearing a helmet in the winter, as I'd wear a hat anyway. Trouble is, I could have named this thread ol' big 'ead because I've got one.vtrying now to work my way through some of the more recondite brands hoping to find one that fits.

Really? There's loads out there, all a lot less than the cost of a cycling helmet!

Tony, I asked did someone know where I can try on a plastic hat without a hundred mile drive, you answered by giving me a list of bobble hats online. It's like a definition of a non sequitur! ;-)

But thanks for the thought.

Well, he was responding to a comment about general warm headwear

My fault. I did ask or at least mention it and I was interested in the suggestions. It was a little spin-off. :)

Yes it wasn't a serious criticism... I just thought we'd quickly gone on a long journey!

NP, it wasn't a criticism, it was a genuine response to Horizon as mentioned. this should be in the does anyone know section rather than helmet campaigning and policy as you'd likely get more useful replies as I'm sure a fair few avoid this section like the plague
that said how weather proof are those helmets, do they still need a liner inside or do they come with a waterproof membrane already?
Won't a shop get a selection in to try or don't LBS do that these days with smaller items?

You're probably right tony. I put it in this section because I was a bit paranoid about posting it anywhere else.
