Wrongside, your comment in the 'Crank Bolts' thread "but a fibre-fix kevlar spoke will tide you over", has got me curious. I'm only dimly aware of kevlar spokes - are they a useful emergency spoke to carry around then, particularly for avoiding cassette removal? Can they be cut down to size?

Kevlar Spokes
Re:Kevlar Spokes
Glenn, it's all here: http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/fiberfix.htm. UK availability? Dunno, but an excellent item for the CTC shop to carry if they don't already.
Caution: these are designed around "traditional" wheels. On a recent club ride, the leader broke a spoke on her fancy black paired-spoke wheels. We all stood around stupidly: we had a Fiberfix, but no way to use it.
Hope this helps,

Thanks Wrongside, these do look good. If I find any in the UK I'll let everyone know. And you're right, would be a good product for the CTC shop to stock that's 2 hints they've been given now, so just maybe..
