Byercycles closed due to retirement

Post by Brucey »

I just tried to go onto their website and I found a note to the above effect.

Another good bike shop gone...?

It must have closed a while ago, for I remember seeing their distinctive closure page (here) at least a few months ago.

I suppose many of these shops no longer make enough money to be interesting to new operators that haven’t got sentimental reasons to keep them running, so when the owners retire they close.

Think they've been closed for a couple of years at least.

They have and it's a loss as they sold high quality bikes tailored to the preferences of the customer and with wheels built to a high standard by the owner. One of those husband and wife, small concerns which were an attractive option to the large companies.
I wish them best wishes for their retirement.
