We're getting snow up here. Actually thinking about taking a snow ride over to Haigh Hall in Wigan tomorrow if it doesnt start raining :)
The cold is really hitting my flat though. I've actually got my inflatible sleeping mats on the carpet to try and keep some of the cold at bay and I'm still near shivering. Storage heaters. Bloody useless they are.

We've got a dusting of snow here in Sussex, this morning - and it's still snowing. Not enough to make a snowman though - enough for a few snowballs  .

Been very cold here Friday and Saturday ........... -1degC for much of Friday and Saturday AMs.
Quite mild in comparison now at +6degC

We've not had snow as such, but soft hail and it came down on and off Thursday night and some on Friday. All gone now.

I had the offer of a lift for me+bike further down into Cornwall for Friday to be dropped off at 0900 and collected at 1530. I had a good 50mile ride planned and had plenty time to do it in, I expected to call in at the Plume of Feathers in Mitchell for lunch.

The weather on Friday was terrible really, so I cried off.

I find this weather difficult when it comes to cycling. We've only got a dusting of snow, but cold, even though puddles only have a thin layer of ice that breaks easily.

What I find difficult is the go out/stay home decision. Day before yesterday it was very icy in the wind and my face really stung. Yesterday better but riding along and you suddenly "hit" a large patch of slushy ice and I feel best not to brake or steer but just coast through and hope.

And I wonder if it is worth the risk as a nasty fall could put me out f rides for a bit ... decisions, decisions, decisions.

We've had lots of snow and ice. I find the trick is just to ride slower and keep perfectly still and upright when riding over anything that looks suspicious!!

Turned around this morning, major roads ok in south lakes but bike paths and some side roads lethal. Not worth the risk!

Hi,
coming of the moors (Dartmoor) in the dark a group of youths were going on with sacks I assume camping :)
Feet and ankles are stressed on open moorland, the snow hides holes and makes walking up hills due to your heel dropping more difficult so this morning I felt it a bit.
Pic - Devil's Tor top right with most snow, beyond of which is the north more high plains, of very non descript peat troughs big enough to swallow coaches, drop your worst enemy here not to be seen again, forced to walk there several times a year in training, your best on a good day in a team will struggle at less than 2 MPH.
