Try this one

I wanted a simple and cheap one and the Echo Beta 2 works OK for me.

Hi
I use a Sigma 1606L. It's a fairly basic wireless one. It shows the time & speed (or a few other measurements). And measures distances.

I have the Sigma BC 800 and basic as it is, one of best I've had. Still working since I got it in 2002, with same battery. A couple of weeks after I brought it, it was malfunctioning. I sent it back to Weinstrasse, Germany and Sigma kindly replaced it.

Cycle computers

I have an Echo W1. Basic functions. Has been on my bike for at least 5 years without battery change. Very happy with it. Here is a full review http://sports.ciao.co.uk/ECHO_W1_Cycle_ ... ew_5614862

The Catey Mity8 has quite a few functions, works well and is easy to operate.

The trouble with mine, after 8000 miles, the Mode button has given up. The actual button inside is ok, it's the rubber thing that you press that has ripped and perished.

For that fault, I wouldn't recommend them.

Too many cycle computers have too many useless functions. Why not try the very basic Halfords models under the brand name of Techwell. They just have an odometer, trip distance, speed, and a clock all operated by one button. The sensor wires are heavy duty as well. With all English instructions they retail for about £7.00 and are very easy to fit.

I have found that it tends to be the contacts between the actual computer and the mount that get a bit of tarnish and as the signal from the sensor is very very small, this is enough to stop it. I try to remember to wriglle it before starting so I don't lose any miles!

Bought a £5.99 one from Wilkinsons. It does all that I want it to - speed , distance, max speed, clock, average speed, total distance and time , trip distance and time and is easy to set up and use.
