Bath or Shower

Post by Mick F »

After a hard day in the saddle, which do you prefer: a bath or a shower?

For me, it's always a bath. The warmth of the water, stretched out and luxuriating, easing the tired muscles, perhaps with a cuppa or something stronger .........

Showers are just wet.

What say you?

Nice hot Shower, followed by a fluffy bath robe and beddies, a cup of tea and a good TV show!
Better than sitting in a solution of your own filth any day!

Definitely a shower for me! Why would you want to marinate in your own filth?

Nice blast in the shower then settle down with a big glass of "muscle relaxant" :D

I haven't voted because I do both.
I relax in a hot steamy bath and then step into the shower to clean off.

Shower, especially if I'm really cold, because I don't have to wait for an hour while the water heats up, and showering is quicker so can get out and start eating faster, and it's much easier to take your bike into a shower with you that into the bath.

Depends on how big your bath is!

Better than sitting in a solution of someone else's filth! But honestly, if the water gets that filthy then you should be washing more regularly. A bit of scum isn't going to kill anyone.

If I've done a 150 - 200 mile day in the saddle then nothing beats a leisurely 1/2-hour soak in the tub, topping up the hot regularly (apparently ice cold is better for muscle recovery, but bugger that!). Standing in a shower just wouldn't be the same.

Heard it said once about baths:
First you put your feet in, then your bum.
Then you wash your face.

Still prefer a bath!

once went for a cycling weekend to the yorks dales. The hotel had no showers, just a bath. I bathed first. As I was drying myself off, I let the plug go to drain it and was going to refill it to save my mate time. My room mate bangs on the door and tells me to stop. He thought it a real waste to use fresh water - he was going to follow me and use my scummy water to bathe in. BTW, he's a real tight fisted s#d - you know the sort, tyres with a brown line where the casing shows thru the tread, an innertube can be mended 20 times before expiry etc..

it wasn't - i just imagined a person getting in the bath with his plastic head protection on, it's an odd image.

but i can see where you're going.

the question is R2, does it pass inspection ?
