Has anyone else seen the new craze in protein from crickets?
Any one tried the Cricket powder or would anyone try it!?
The 60-70% protein is very tempting and I think it could make a great natural revocer protein in porridge?
Sustainable protein from Crickets!? Cricket Porridge!

I wouldn't try harvesting the one's with the bats they'd put up a good fight, and the one's with the big pads and gloves who hide behind the three sticks would be a bit chewy
Cricket Porridge would be wicket

I'd welcome a chance to try insect food, these are sky-high in fat, though.

I'm a vegetarian, so don't eat things like that. However, I'm not sure that I can see much difference between eating insects and eating crustaceans such as prawns and shrimp. One is popular, the other isn't.

There are reports of a 'craze' in Scotland for riding with your mouth open to catch the protein rich midge population, apparently Audax riders can get an extra 50k out of a single gobful.
Trials incorporating them into gels and flapjacks has met with varying marketing results.
When a spokesman was asked what the exact contents of the new Midgels and Flamidge ranges,he said "it wouldn't be Cricket to disclose their secret ingredients".
It's not the first time the company "Powersect" have made forays in this market, trials with with some leading Audax riders and racers, have met with varying responses.
One rider when asked off the record,if the product had 'legs' or gave him 'wings' was heard to remark that he "went like a slug" after trying some of their previous examples

It's the sign of a happy biker, flies between the teeth.
