Shouldn't worry anyway because Farage is a man if his words.
He'll be wanting another referendum to clear these matters up.

You're quite right Al ......we are still waiting for Boris & co to distance him but they haven't yet have they?
I think you'll find for a while that people are keen to highlight the lies people tell you to win you over. We have it in Scotland since the referendum and the beauty of the electronic world it's far easier to find "that quote". No more going to the library and trawling through old newspapers.

It seems some want their cake and eat it so to speak. Cornwall voted decisively for out but have now realised they'll lose their EU funding so are asking to keep it. Tough - out means out and they'll have to live with the consequences. Many of the areas that voted to stay in are net contributors to national finances. Many of the areas that voted to leave make a negative contribution to the nation's finances and have benefited greatly from EU regional grants.
Surely they won't expect taxpayers in the remain areas to make up for the loss of EU funding they voted to lose. That wouldn't be democratic would it?

Maybe he'll get a peerage and a cabinet job. The Daily Mail is certainly pushing for that and what the Mail wants the Tories usually give it. Even more so with Johnson, Gove and the rest of the Conservative right running things.

I doubt that very much indeed.
Who is "they"?
Cornwall Council?
One of the best little sayings I've read over the last day or two is:
"Money can't buy me love."
Objective One has paid for some things, but the man on the street has seen none of it. There is nothing that O1 has done for the
people of Cornwall.

In a previous post Mick you said democracy is representative. That being the case John Pollard represents the people of Cornwall.
John Pollard, the leader of Cornwall council said: “Now that we know the UK will be leaving the EU we will be taking urgent steps to ensure that the UK Government protects Cornwall’s position in any negotiations.
“We will be insisting that Cornwall receives investment equal to that provided by the EU programme which has averaged £60m per year over the last ten years.”
European money has helped develop infrastructure, universities and broadband internet in the county. From 2007 to 2013, €654m was given to pay for these projects, the Financial Times reported.

The areas of Wales that received Objective One money from the EU are the areas that voted most enthusiastically to leave. People do know that they had that funding from the EU. They voted Leave in spite of that. Make of that what you will.

It was one of the prominent female Leave campaigners (I recognised her but can't put her name - never seen her before she became prominent in the Leave campaign).
The trouble is that people have been listening to "this sort of stuff" ad based their votes on it. So keep repeating lies and people do begin to accept and believe them. I found it disappointing that leave start backing away from their promises so quickly.

No doubt Cornwall Council represent the people of Cornwall, but they aren't doing a very good job of it.
There was a questionnaire sent out to random households recently. I filled it in in pencil and Mrs Mick F read my answers, and when we agreed, I inked them in and sent it off.
The questions were presented in a agree/disagree method and you ticked the boxes. There was also another section where you could add info and such. All done anonymously. I wasn't very complimentary about the council or the infrastructure ............. or Objective One.
I was complimentary about our local parish council though.
Hopefully all the comments will be collated and published.

Of course. They tend to be the most deprived areas which tend to have a larger proportion of the elderly and the ill educated. Those were demographically the groups most likely to vote for exit.

You might think them stupid but they clearly understood that Britain has been a net contributor for forty years and receives no " EU money" .

+1
BTW, I'm not "elderly" or "ill-educated".
I'm in my mid-60s and have six O Levels.
I voted Leave, and I'm happy that the Leave campaign won.
