Also come straight down from exactly vertically above the ship. They don't have weapons or radars that look straight up! The hard part, is getting into position - straight in from outer-space?

here mick, arent you contravening the official secrets act or sommat? Could put the old pension in jeopardy?? Terrorists now plotting new methods of attack. (just imagine bin ladens cronies being CTC forum readers)

Yeah, don't worry. The Senior Service is in safe hands! And so's my pension!

The trick if you can do it, is to come straight down from a point directly above and beyond the maximum range of any detection equipment. The hard part is getting to that point. If you travel the least bit horizontally you'll be on the screens!

The only way is to come in from outer-space, EXACTLY vertically and EXACTLY above the ship.

And I just thought that colours were different in those days, but this is proof.

Have you also ever noticed how the USA was brown in the late 60s and 70s with only red showing up, and little greens and blues? Just watch Colombo and stuff like that.

This is a definite fact, and not an artefact due to phtography.

And...when I wore flares that large, I had to wrap them round my legs 3 times before I could put the cycle clip on. Either that, or not be able to put my right foot down because it was wrapped up in my chain wheel.

Good on yer!

Yup - scarcely in long enough to get my uniform dirty. In fact I returned my full white kit (cant remember the number the uniform had, used to refer to it as the ice-cream suit) unworn.

Not a salty old dog like you, Mick, just a mere badge-man. Credit to you for doing all those years. I am not sure my liver would have lasted.

Ah - years and years of practice in the worlds largest drinking club, eh?

Learn a trade, see the world, meet interesting people and get bladdered in some of the most far flung reaches of the world.

Marvellous.

I nearly miss it.

On death row since 1973

The link only has the story not the pic, but in the last 35 years this chap has lost more hair than Asdace, and what's left has gone greyer than mine.

This was me a few years ago at my grandparents - must have been around '70. I'm on the left as you look at the picture. The other fine fellow is my cousin.

Wish I could have some of that hair now :)

Don't the cigars burn down too quick when you're cycling?

Oh, please just humour me on this one. I love fishing as much as my cycling. Here's one I caught earlier....

And i'd only been sat there for 2 days (with 3 more to go)

Stop carping on....

 Nice fish.

I used to do a bit of fishing myself, not carp, just the usual perch, chub, roach, dace, tench, lots of gudgeon that you get around Spondon powerstation. Oh and the odd pike, usually when you didn't want them.
My Grandad took me to start when I was in my early teens then I used to go on my own on my days off work when I was 19-20.
