Specialised brand - valve problem again
I know this problem has been appeared on this forum before, but I make no apology for reporting yet another case of the valve pulling out of a Specialised inner tube(700c narrow size). I'm no expert, but the contact area of the valve root/inner tube seems too small, with little overlap to make a strong joint. It just doesn't seem able to cope with the stresses imposed by modern push-on/pull-off pump connectors. Rant ends.

Funny thing, had a similar failure on a Specialized Turbo inner tube two weeks ago. All of a sudden, I was riding on a flat. Couldn't find any puncture at the roadside, so put in a new Turbo tube. At home, inspection with a bowl of water found that the valve to tube interface had failed.
Went to the LBS to get a spare tube and they sold me a Continental Race 28 Light. Looks no better or worse than the Turbo.
Perhaps it's the 8 Bar they don't like? The cover Vittoria Corsa can take up to 10 Bar.
Up to now, I have always carried one spare tube. I will start to carry two from now on..+ patches and glue....+ get you home mobile...+....???
