I've just stripped down an MTB for parts for a project
It came with Hayes MX5 Cable operated disc brakes.
The brake levers are Tektro 374 TK for flat bars, which according to the specs are V brake levers
I want to swap to drop bars
I know the Tektro Lyra cable disc brakes are compatible with the Tektro RL340 levers (for caliper rim brakes). I have a pair of RL340 levers
Does anybody know if the MX5 are the same spec for use with the RL340?
The RL520 is the V brake drop lever, but is the different mechanical advantage between the RL340 and RL520 an issue when using cable disc brakes?
The Lyra's are compatibile with both according to Tektro

Road Brake levers for Hayes MX5 Cable Disc Brakes
Re: Road Brake levers for Hayes MX5 Cable Disc Brakes
I would use RL520 with MX5 calipers. I think that if you use the shorter pull road levers, you won't have enough running clearance between the pads and the disc with these calipers. [You can always try it and see how you get on, although there is also a risk that the lever will come back to the bar on a long descent through pad wear.]
