Forum on a downwards spiral?

IMHO the forum goes in cycles, in particular the teashop sub-forum.
Interesting, friendly threads worth reading and contributing to.
Then monotonous threads, arguments and some degree of unpleasantness.
Then a return to interest again.
So where in this cycle are we? My move is on the checking of the drain. Let's not allow this forum go down the drain. Time to make it interesting, friendly and of interest to many not just those wanting to argue the toss over the minutiae of moderation or politics in forums.

PS don't make this another opportunity to discuss moderation, etc.
I'm an idiot! In trying to make a point that this section of the forum has become uninteresting because of certain types of threads I've created another opportunity to create the very thread I hate.
PLEASE DON'T REPLY TO THIS THREAD! Let it die with the other similar threads. Let's get the teashop back to the interesting, peak of its cycle again.

Shameless promotion of an opportunity to be positive and climb or of the spiral.

Ask the mods to delete it .... except then we'll get another "More Threads Deleted - Time For Moderators To ..." thread started by somebody else (maybe even involving a decisive democratic poll).

Can I add a poll asking whether this thread should be deleted?
PS take a look at this thread to feel better. Remember why you ride a bike by discussing favourite rides.

Better still, ask the contributors to delete it.
It just takes a few PMs and a little co-operation  .
I didn't realise you could do that. When I even try and delete a post I've made it seems to refuse if anybody else has posted afterwards.

Damn, another post to get rid of

I worked that out as well but thought it was a trap to get people to post.

Ok point taken . Perhaps we could learn a lesson from Cyclechat,s cafe section then. Far more interesting over there.
