Crask Inn

I originally posted this in Touring and Expedition but of more interest here I think. The Crask has been gifted to the Scottish Episcopal Church apparently and will remain as a pub and B & B. Obviously a link in the end to end chain in Sutherland. The previous owners are reported as going to stay in the bunkhouse which may affect the availability of this.

Good news, I have very fond memories of stopping there for lunch during my LEJOG.

Stopped at the Crask Inn the other week on the way back from Durnesss.
New innkeepers from the Chruch had been in for 8 weeks and had got them selves sorted.
Very welcoming - lots of other cyclist were there on their way to and from JoG, the fire was lit
Everyone (including myself) was having freshly baked scones.

Great news.
Any idea if camping is ok in the garden or if accommodation is available?

I camped in their garden when the previous owners were there also stayed there B&B with my wife on a LEJOG. I would assume the same applies as they would want any revenue. I have known others to camp at the rear on land where wild camping is allowed.

Is anyone aware of how to get in touch with the Crask Inn to check the availability of a room please?

I enjoyed my short stop for a cold drink at the Crask during my own JOG-LE last year, the owners were so friendly and welcoming it made my day, glad to hear it will continue. It really is a landmark in the area, in fact, it's the only thing in the area!
