Campag cassette lockrings

Post by Steve »

Venturing into (for me) the previously uncharted waters of Campagnolo I am trying to fit a Veloce 10 speed cassette to the hub & bought a Cyclo lockring tool, labelled as suitable for Campag cassettes. It doesn't fit the lockring. Are their 10 speed lockrings differently splined from their other cassettes? Do I have to buy the genuine Campag tool or is there a cheaper alternative?

None of our usual Campag boffs is on line.

campag instructions

The link is for all the campag instructions in pdf format. By coincidence, 10 speed sprockets is top of the list.

This is the one I bought:

Have just double checked and the splines on it are a good fit with the lockring, but the tool won't fit over the locknut as the internal diameter is too narrow!!! I think I'll be asking for my money back. Will have to buy one of the alternatives - thanks Mick
