Karrimor 'Uplift' ??

Post by braz »

Does anyone remember - and have for sale - this piece of kit that we used to be able to buy years ago? I've just returned from JOG having used panniers for the first time and am sure that, having travelled much lighter in the past I can do it again! The 'Uplift' - for all you youngsters out there - just clips into the saddle of your Brooks. Easy to use, easy to take with you, and I can't find one! Help please!

Thank you, Roadrunner - I must be older than you! No need for any fixings with an 'Uplift' - it's so easy to use! Older cyclists please look in your sheds...........regards, Braz.

I used one once but was not very happy with it as I felt the bag was simply not held securely enough. There were 2 sorts - one that simply went down the back of the saddlebag and the more 'robust' version that went underneath the bag as well. I had a search for mine the other day but I must have thrown it out when I moved to Devon five years ago.

Tim, thank you for your mail. The 'de-luxe' version (ie, with a bottom carrier) always worked well for me - but I always travelled fairly light! Thank you for looking anyway, and would the rest of you please look in your sheds as well - I still nedd one! regards, Braz.

A luggage elastic round the uplift and hooked onto each seat stay fixes any insecurity. Excellent gadget, still using mine, wish they were still available.
