Here we go again lance armstrong and drugs. Why can we not just apreciate what this man has achieved .
His greatest rivals support him and so should we.
The french newspapers only have a grudge because they have not got a rider to challenge at the moment.
Come on lance another year wont hurt you but it will definetly pxss off the french.

There must be gamesmanship in any sport,
Paula Ratcliffe being a marvellous exception.

You have got to have suffered badly and been very ill, if you want to beat Armstrong. It would be unfair otherwise.

The nature of mass media sport where the income of the sportsman is in direct proportion to viewing figures pulled, is such that I always watch, and always loathe, the said sportsman.

I always hope he will be soundly beaten but then
I AM watching for THAT, so he is pulling this particular punter.

Paula Ratcliffe was reported in recent newspaper as using low-oxygen tent for sleeping. This simulates the effects of living at altitude, increasing the oxygen carrying capacity of blood, thereby aiding endurance in sporting competition.

Yet if she had used it in Italy she would risk having the tent confiscated by their Police and prosecution under their "Sporting Fraud" laws, as happened to one of the Aussie cyclists this year during the Giro d'Italia.

One person's "sporting advantage" is another's "cheating". IP6 anyone?

Yes but when it came to Athens and a
very hot race the low oxygen was the opposite of what she needed.

If she had had a sun tan and trained in North Africa under those torrid conditions she would have done well.

Unfortunately she did not have that kind of skin type to do such training. I believe that she has since refuted the newspaper claim that Pete refers to as just not worth talking about.

Armstrong reminds me of Navratilova in tennis.
Why can they not let other people take the limelight
in a more sporting way?

I do not enjoy perversion of any sort and yet Navratilova only continued becoz of her perverse nature.

I will not extend the comparison any further
with Armstrong for fear of offending his supporters on this MB
