I have ridden for half a lifetime with toeclips...I have used nail-on shoeplates, I have used flat pedals. I tried cleats, I now prefer them. Others may try them or not, I don't care either way. What I'm not about to do is take up the invitation to "convince" somebody that cleats are right for them. That makes about as much sense as dismissing cleats without even trying them. If you want to know what riding cleats is like, try it. If you don't want to try it, thats fine by me, but my involvement stops there.
Perhaps the same applies to plastic bikes, but if you want to try one, at least get the right size, with the right sort of gear range, tyre size, handlebar shape and all that sort of stuff. ....otherwise, you won't like it anyway.....or is that your point?
