CTC Membership Card

I just received my new CTC Membership card. When I removed the old card from my multicard wallet the print had disappeared from the card, it was stuck to the clear plastic window of the wallet, which means if I have to remove the card for any reason during the membership year all of the imformation would be obliterated.

Well Mel, you're lucky to have had all the print visible to begin with !! My card was semi-illegible upon receipt !!

Not to worry though, less than two weeks after joining, my wallet was stolen which contained all my credit cards, driving licence etc plus the CTC card. When i got a replacement card all the lettering was legible. Since then, exactly the same thing you describe has happened !! The print has left the card and is on one of the clear plastic windows in my new wallet. !!

I don't know why they can't issue members with 'credit card' type cards - they're obviously cutting overheads to the bone - hence the tatty cheapo cards currently issued.

Numerous organisations use this type of printing. On receipt of the new card I cover the printing with Sellotape, and that keeps it in pristine condition for the year.

I agree with you all !! My card was in my wallet for about a week and lo and behold I can no longer read the details thereon !!

Can't we have some "proper" plastic cards with embossed details ? I know that they'll probably be more expensive, but at least they'll be legible and hence useable when trying to negotiate discounts over a LBS counter !!

I covered the card with sellotape, as suggested above, problem now solved.

The quality is appaling.

MIni is near rubbed off from being in my wallet like many others though in my case that is acedemic as the number was quite wrong to start with.

It's a rather poor example to have to produce to show one is a member. It should be a glowing advert for the CTC not an embarassment.
