Heaviest tent?
Re: Heaviest tent?
I carry mine crosswise in dry bag which also contains toolkit for easy access, camp chair and beers.
So the routine at campsite is usually chair, beer, put up tent.
Re: Heaviest tent?
We do our best not to carry heavy weights these days and probably the heaviest we toured with regularly was about 3 kgs. We did once go with a very heavy tent in Ireland, but that was over 40 years ago when we were young, didn't know any better and probably wouldn't have cared anyway because we were just happy being away together on our bikes.
Now we usually use a Vaude Hogan UL, a 2 person tent weighing about 1.9 kg which sits neatly, lengthways, on the rack as you can see. We still use a Trangia to cook with and our luxury is a steel cafetiere to make a decent amount of coffee in the morning but if we're going somewhere warm we are otherwise happy staying quite lightweight.
