Aldi Selling Down Sleeping Bags Next Week £40

Has anybody bought one today? Opinions? Am thinking of cycling to aldi after work.

Yes, delivered this morning, seems a bit thin but we havent tried it yet. It can be returned foc if it doesnt suit.

Slept in it for a couple of hours on top of the bed in a cool bedroom, it was fine. Will be used inside our VW Camper

All I can say is it's small,pictured on top of a sheet of A4.

The material is about the same weight as a silk shirt,it has an almost full length two way right hand side zip with a velcro closure at the

top and a single toggle for the hood.There are two loops for hanging at the foot. As Al says it's quite thin( bulk wise ).

Thanks for that label pic colin. If I have understood it properly, the temperature cannot dip anywhere near freezing, and that's when it is new non-degraded.
It does definitely sound 2 season. Think i'll stick to my current plan of replacing my venerable mountain equipment bag, when it needs it with a snugpak synthetic.

I would use a down bag if I was happy with- the use limited to my control, that is to say that I can gauge use with protection from any contamination for the period I use it, and I can afford can justify the extra cost for the rather small weight saving.
Good synthetic bags are cheap enough you can fit out your bag wardrobe for £100, down will be considerably more....

Do many know how to fluff up sleeping bags before you use them, down when packed and unrolled takes time to gain loft?

FWIW, I've just read an Aldi brochure which came with a mail order delivery. This bag is being promoted as part of the angling special offer and is illustrated being used by an angler to keep his legs warm.

Well its 1 X 11 gear set up om MTB, then you need a chain guide so the chain won't unship.

well there is a new aldi at streatham near the Streatham Rail ( not St Hill ) not many and they were all lumped with the FISHING gear - fingerless gloves, rubber boots and green flak jackets. They looked all a bit light weight to me - my sleeping bag inner had the same bulk and probably warmth - and I bet they are for small people only.

wonders aloud if, if it's that small, it could be used inside another decent bag for nights out in very cold conditions.

some said that the inteded use is for fishermen to keep their legs warm? Well Alpkit have or had some nice elephants feet that pack small but expand really large ( I have one )
