Hi, As I wear trainers for cycling are there any ways of keeping feet and trainers dry and warm ?

There are short gaiters and long gaiters.
They keep the wind and rain off. the long gaiters are best used with waterproof trews as otherwise the water will drip down INTO your shoes from your trousers, if you do not wear gaiters.
If you particularly need warmth then but thrmals socks for underneath as well.
St John Street Cycles will send you a pair.
They cost about £15.
Always take care with the zip function.

I use neoprene overshoes from Ozzo, via Mike Dyason for wet and winter riding.
I used to know a guy from my old D.A. section who wore plastic bags on his feet inside his cycling shoes but over his socks.
He claimed they worked better than anything else he had tried.
Where are you now Captain Copas?
If it is particularly cold I wear thermal socks as well.
I use different shoes for winter and summer riding, to allow for the thicker socks.
Hope this helps.

i can recomend seal skinz socks, water proof and breathable, you can get them from most bike shops i think. if not Halfords do them as well, although it does have to be a Halfords that does bikes and bike bits. can't remember how much they are though, had my last pair for a chrissy present.

Last winter was so warm you hardly neded a sweater round here for cycling some days.
My feet always get coldest first but last winter I had no such problem. Now that I recline (recumbent) my feet they did not get cold.
Strange.

In my experience:
Dry NO
Warm, possibly with overshoes and good socks

where is round here then? coz it was cold here. I was thinking of the temperature while Iwas in the saddle. There were cold days but once you got in the seat it was very warm. I got far too hot far too often which makes for unpleasant riding.

"New Eager Sport Overshoe" from
http://www.bikeplus.co.uk/ (the former CTC shop franchisee!). Lightweight, compact, comfortable and keep trainers almost completely dry. Any water that infiltrates should drain away. Shoes were never as dry with OZZO neoprene shoes, which were bulky and seemed to introduce some water spray from the road, past the soles, upwards by a capilliary action.
