How much is a safe margin without risking blowing up, though?

From RRA Prsaident, Bridget Boon:
"44 minutes up on schedule at Waterloo Cross. 138 miles."
Clearly a strong start though do remember that Michelle scheduled a relatively slower first portion. The A30 is fast with a good tailwind.
They're always up at this point. Need it for when they hit the rain (it always rains) in scotland

Didn’t someone once say that the trick is to go slow enough, not fast enough?1982john wrote: ↑20 Aug 2022, 5:14pm From RRA Prsaident, Bridget Boon:

Strikes me there’s a lot more darkness to deal with than a month ago. It’s been a very wet squally day here in SWScotland but a better forecast for tomorrow. Fingers crossed she’s on her way towards Shap when I wake tomorrow.
Whatever I am, wherever I am, this is me. This is my life

Re: Record attempt scheduled
it does seem odd to do it 2 months after the longest day but maybe you're more likely to get dry weather and favourable winds?
Anyway it's all looking nice after 12 hours
