Thinking about that, it wouldn't be too hard to make something to rest the bottom of a Lezyne Micro Floor Drive (which is what I have) onto the bottom bracket shell to raise it to a similar height to a standard track pump. That would negate the need for an extending tube that is likely to be either flimsy or, if not, heavy.
When I puncture away from home my bike ends up upside down with something shoved under the expensive saddle to stop it getting scraped. I'd not want to be pressing down on the frame. The wheel is usually propped against a field gate while I pump with one knee on the ground. It seems to work well enough, especially when I consider that I only puncture a couple of times a year at most.
Thinking about it, why not a mini track pump combined with foam knee pads that weigh next to nothing? All your ergonomic needs satisfied with very little extra weight!
