Thinking about that, it wouldn't be too hard to make something to rest the bottom of a Lezyne Micro Floor Drive (which is what I have) onto the bottom bracket shell to raise it to a similar height to a standard track pump. That would negate the need for an extending tube that is likely to be either flimsy or, if not, heavy.

When I puncture away from home my bike ends up upside down with something shoved under the expensive saddle to stop it getting scraped. I'd not want to be pressing down on the frame. The wheel is usually propped against a field gate while I pump with one knee on the ground. It seems to work well enough, especially when I consider that I only puncture a couple of times a year at most.

Thinking about it, why not a mini track pump combined with foam knee pads that weigh next to nothing? All your ergonomic needs satisfied with very little extra weight!

I bought a cheap all-plastic track pump from Decathlon, to put into the bike bag for our recent cycling holiday in the Canaries. It's lighter than a metal-barrelled pump and it is full size (although slightly shorter than many track pumps) but you wouldn't want to take it out on a ride with you. You could probably strap it to your rack.

The occurrence of p**********s, is now a fairly rare occurrence, so carrying a large pump in case of a visit from the fairy is overkill, IMO.

Would this satisfy the OP's requirements?

It has a fold-out foot, a fold-out handle so you're pushing vertically, a pressure gauge (probably not highly accurate but it's an indication) and a screw-on reversible head.

That Truflo Minitrack mini track pump looks pretty much what my other thread was asking for/suggesting (although more complicated) :)

The birzman-tiny-tanker-apogee-mini-floor-pump looks like what this thread was asking :)

Thanks
