YHA booking discount

Post by fatboy »

All Cycling UK blurb talks of 10% YHA booking on-line but nothing explains how! Anyone know the magic incantation needed for success!

I imagine you have to be a paid up member. For getting discounts on the YHA website thats the only way you can find out the 10% doscount for travel cards, have to login in first. probably some thing similar with Cycling UK?

You need to go to Cycling UK website and under membership benefits they list the benefits with a view button for the promo codes. You can only view the code if logged in. Just apply that code in the promotion code box on YHA on line booking. If using more than a couple of nights per year a better bet is half price yha membership as for £10 it would give you £3 per night off stays. If already a yha member you can't get half price membership. The on line prices are members prices and if on arrival you don't have membership they add an additional charge https://www.cyclinguk.org/membership/member-benefits

can you still get the cycling uk 10% off if you are a yha member, so get the yha £3 off per night then an extra 10%

The 10% is an additional discount to the £3 discount for being a member, but only available at the wholly owned YHAs and not the enterprise hostels which account for a substantial number. However, I have used the discount a few times in the this year, but the last time I tried I got some obscure computer code thrown back at me as to why the discount was not available. Given most hostels off season were about £13, it was hardly worth bothering with the discount.
