The Gelert Micro Pillow in it's stuff pack measures 16 x 9cm and filling is made from 4 holecore hollowfibe. I think it may need addition support, say a stuffsack filled with clothing to prop pillow up.

You may find this pillow a bargain. http://www.poundland.co.uk/pages/offers/travel.aspx

Thanks for all the advice on this. I have ordered an Ajungilac. I will report on its "performance" at some later date.

The poundland offering looks identical to my old favourite ( which has recently failed ).
At £1 a pillow I could have stocked up, if there was a Poundland within striking distance. . . but there isn't.

If the Ajungilac doesn't suit, I'll try your other suggestions.

Thanks

I think I read some reviews about the Ajungilak air pillow and there were a number of comments about it being noisy. One suggestion was to turn the cover inside out if I remember.
Look forward to hearing how you get on.

A pillow for cycle camping

Poundland inflatable neck pillow (with useful one-way valve, so it won't deflate without you slightly squeezing it). (The Poundland pack also contains an eye mask and 2 sets ear plugs.)

Roll up some clothes to fill in the U shaped space. Wrap the whole bundle in something (or stuff sac) so it stays together.

This works for me.

If the Ajungilak air pillow doesn't work out take a look at the Spundown pillow - filled with special highly compressible fibre.

This looks good, Speedy but wonder if it would be possible to split one into 2 to make a suitable size for camping. Would depend on how sticky the filling was and how a machine needle would cope.

I've just bought a waterproof , compressible stuff sack from Decathlon for my sleeping bag. It's actually air tight and has a valve to let air out when you compress it so can also be inflated for use as a pillow.
It'll also keep your bag totally dry so you don't need to put it in a pannier.
