Space-age shiny blankets

I was watching the highligths of the London Marathon yesterday evening, and saw some folk with those shiny silver blankets wrapped around them to keep out the cold and wet.
Where do you get 'em from?
They seem a brill idea for a long trek, you never know what the weather's going to be like if you stop for a problem.
Can you re-use them?

Don't know about re-using them but my first aid kit (came from aldi) has a space blanket in it, you can also buy them separate from out door shops as I made sure I had a couple of spares for when I did first aid on an early season road race. I guess re-useing depends on how easily you can fold them back up to their small size.

I bought one in our local camping shop. Cost less than a fiver if remember correctly.

Silver on the inside, bright enough for rescue on the outside - although I hope you wouldn't need that bit!

Saw some in the local pound shop last year, selling as a twin-pack for a £1 (ofcause) I also today got inflatable pillow for £1. If I see any in the £1 shop, I'll let you know.

Kountry Kit in Tavistock may be a good place to try?
Most of my walking equipment has come from there on my visits to the area!

David

Thank you David, Small world isn't it! Mrs Mick F only said this morning that we should get one of the blankets from there.
We've often been in Kountry Kit! The trouble with the place, it's at the top end of town, so we never pass it whilst shopping, but will definitely pop in next time we're in town. Maybe I might cycle that way tomorrow.
I can honestly say that I've never seen these blankets for sale. Obviously, I've never looked.
Regards to you,
Mick.

I saw them in a Tesco extra today. 2 in fact in different places. One was sold with a 'disposable poncho' for £1.50 I think.

I still have my old London Marathon space blanket from 1985! I took it camping to put under my Thermarest, but it was far too rustly and noisy when I had neighbours nearby.
Those Poundland inflatable pillows are great. They have a one-way valve ie you have to squeeze it slightly to let the air out, so they shouldn't accidentally deflate on you. The pack also includes an eye mask and 2 sets of ear plugs.

£1.99 from Kountry Kit.
I called in on my way home, but had no cash with me! What a silly billy I am.
Get a couple soon.
