Frank Field Quits

Post by mumbojumbo »

I have paid little attention to this event but have read he remains an MP and simply will no longer align with Labour. He has been portrayed as a hero by others including Lord Blunkett.David Blunkett wrote a regular column for the Sun and acted corruptly when Home Secretary, forcing Blair to ask him to resign.Frank Field should stand down as an MP and stand on a new platform. His behaviour is despicable leaving many poor and oppressed people in the Wirral without a voice in Parliament. If he has evidence on anti-semitic activity it should be passed to the DPS .Otherwise he is being made a puppet for those who really control our society.

here is an earlier example of Mr Field being duped by a Tory

http://www.poverty.ac.uk/report-poverty ... eld-review

I have not heard Mister field complaining that his hard work has been ignored by Cameron,Osborn and Trees Are Grey.He is een by some a quisling, and has been used to undermine cohesion in the Labour Party. This clip shows how Roy jenkins sold out to the establishment

So he remains an MP, an Independent, yet he is 'despicable" for not representing the people of the Wirral in Parliament. But as an MP he still is.
"mumbojumbo" ... well named ....

Frank Field is and always has been the honourable face of Labour. If he cannot live within Labour any more there is something badly wrong with Labour.

Former advisor to Thatcher and Cameron, rebel against his party over Brexit amongst others, lost a confidence vote of his constituency Labour party a month ago, finds populist reason to resign? What a surprise!

Cyril Haearn, surely you see the virtue of normal people leading Germany to greatness? Radical politics rarely work, and in Germany this is known well. I would turf out the whole of Westminster and replace them with the German parliament tomorrow. Then we would have at least a few on the front bench with experience in the real world.

I'm a trendy consumer. Just look at my SM-G900F using hovercraft full of eels.

Normal?
There is so much democracy in Germany, 16 regional parliaments (that would be good in the UK, Yorkshire parliament etc, creates tension, stability, balance), fantastic coalitions with three parties in various permutations, the greens and the left (old commies) have one regional pm each, +1

Just been in the Kino to see a political film about Habeck of the greens, impressions:
Politicians are very busy, travel a lot, have to be nice to everyone, greet with a handshake, remember names
Habeck showed empty shelves in his office, no rows of folders, everything is digital now!

David McAlister is one of my favourites, half Scotch, half German, he was in charge of Niedersachsen after Christian Wulff became Bundespresident, CW was the first Bp to be hounded out of office, the stress was too much, he and his wife split up, then got married again. A true fairy tale

We have a Willy-Brandt museum* in Luebeck, WB was a great politician maybe

* or "Huldigungsstaette", shrine to our famous person
There is a Willy-Brandt museum in Berlin too

Does it actually matter?

I remember ff being in the media years ago, maybe he is just good at getting attention, can't quite place him left or right, maybe he does not fit into a pigeon hole like most politrickians

It may be fashionable even on these fora to criticise politicians. They are quite well paid, but they could be voted out at the next election
MPs who do their job well work very hard, especially those from Wales and Scotland who have to keep two homes. In the constituency at the weekend they are usually attending fetes, discussions etc etc

Let me guess. He is in favour of Brexit so you don't like him. In his constituency he is a victim of the widespread campaign to oust anyone who doesn't follow the Momentum line, until Labour and Momentum are the same. He is bedrock Labour, and I would say that whether he was Remain or Leave. He has served on committees when in opposition, trying to bring decency to Government policy even when the government has not been one he would have chosen. That is public service.

No, I disliked him long before there was any prospect of Brexit. I don't remember exactly what came first but I think it might have been making a mess of his ministry after the Blair landslide.

Frank Field a rubbish manager shocker, as one might say. He was an odd choice as he's always been someone who sat on the edge. I have a lot of time for him.
