Re: Flat peddles on Road Bike
What ever you like the look of and are of a design that you are happy with. Think of spike height if any and width. All of these are too personal to comment on. Frankly colour will probably be the most important.
We can't say most suitable as the Madone is designed (ie Trek will assume) for use with clipless.
People. Please lets avoid the discussion about the merits of flats, clips or clipless.

Ah, good, someone peddling pedals.
Re: Flat peddles on Road Bike
I can confirm DMR V8 fit very comfortably on a Trek Domane.

I've got these on my road bike https://www.decathlon.co.uk/-id_8244912.html
Also considered these https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-p ... flat-pedal

I think pins are sole-destroying so I favour Wellgo LU 868s (edited!) or 975s, or MKS Lambdas.

When I brought my second hand Specialised Hard Rock the fella made a great play about the pedals he had fitted to it. Tried them out and thought I will stick with my SPDs and they went into my parts box.
It was only recently that I thought about using them again and retrieved them from the box that after a bit of investigation, Google didnt exist when I brought the bike , that I found out that you could buy sticky " shoes to use these pedals. Apparently the screws mould into the shoe platform so it might pay you to also buy some of these.
I need to find more money now then !

The pins can be a bit rough on shoes. I think they are better than rat trap style pedals, and they can be turned in, until there isnæt much sticking out.
The Wellgo LU 808s have pins, as well. I've slipped on something like the 975s (I don't know if it was that exact pedal).
I'm not familiar with the MKS Lambda, though it looks alright. I don't see an advantage for that one versus the DMR V8, where you can set the height of the pins where you want it.

Re: Flat peddles on Road Bike
I have all aluminium Decathlon pedals similar to these on my tourer. Perfectly adequate… no need for spikes which damage your shoes, the edges are serrated which ensures good grip.

I have had MTB pedals with those horrid little spikes on. They are just great at tearing gashes in your legs. Rat traps for me any day.

Peddles? Are they similar to breaks?

Reuse, recycle, to save the planet.... Auctions, Dump, Charity Shops, Facebook Marketplace, Ebay, Boots. Old House, and a Banger ..... And cycle as often as you can...... Every little helps!
Re: Flat peddles on Road Bike
If I were putting non-system pedals on a road race bike I would go for something that looked the part.
https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/pedals-clea ... s/?geoc=US
This sort of thing, with toe clips to locate the foot, though I would use it without the strap.
Big chunky pedals on a road race bike look plain odd, like wellies with a suit and tie.

Re: Flat peddles on Road Bike
These are not bad and look fairly chic on a road bike: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AEST-Titaniu ... 9gOpJdT87Q
Fairly lightweight and pretty simple to overhaul. Some reviews say they are a bit fragile so try not to bash them into kerbs etc.

I meant Wellgo LU-868 and had confused them with the similar-but-plastic Union SP-808. Damn my memory!
The MKS Lambdas bobbles simply don't seem to eat shoes as quickly as pins - neither the soles, nor the uppers (if you're into the bad habit of lifting pedals with the top of your shoe).
