I know they won't see this but just to do my karmic bit and bolster general faith in human kindness.

Coming down Clapham High St, enitrely my own fault for trying to drink some water and ride at the same time - actually it was drinking and BRAKING that was the problem. Went over and got some nasty bumps and scrapes, especially on my knee and shoulder.

I don't even remember getting off the road but two people walking by, one a young lady in a business suit with trainers, helped me up, picked up my bike and pannier bags which had gone sprawling, and stayed to make sure I didn't need immediate medical attention. Very kind of them and much appreciated.

The bike is OK, by the way. I got back on and cycled very gingerly to work. My wrist is very sore but I assume if I'd broken anything I wouldn't be able to wiggle my fingers or bend my hand at all.

Now does anyone have any suggestions for getting bloodstains out of a shirt :-)

moving everything is not a good test. I could but still needed surgery 18 hours later to pin the brake in my elbow.

as for the blood stains any biological washing powder should cope.

Similar story. I came a cropper and spent 12 hours waiting for my wrist to stop hurting. Finally went to hospital at midnight and needed surgery, 5 months of physio and a re-set.
Get it checked!

ChrisO,
Are you a regular contributor to this board or did you have a premonition of an accident and
write something earlier in the week or last week?
Or did you just get too keen and have an accident as well?

I had a bad accident and had premonitions of it so much I could not have avoided it however hard I tried

You're right, I replied to someone asking about pursuing a claim against a motorist. And another one about potholes. However I have nobody but myself to blame for this one, and I think I've been punished enough. My wrist was still sore this morning and my knee had swelled up so I went to A&E but the X-rays were OK.

Now you mention it I did have an anxiety dream earlier in the week where I didn't actually crash but was having trouble controlling my bike and avoiding bollards and roundabouts. I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned premonitions. How odd.

I have become a ferquent reader and sometimes contributor over recent months. I've been a CTC member for several years and did mainly mountain biking and recreational rides but since changing jobs in the summer I've taken up riding to work each day. So I've been interested in other people's experiences and it's also been a good place for advice on kit and clothes etc. I see you are quite a regular poster.

I have plenty of time to do so.
I am not a believer in logical positivism,
ie that everything is a consequence of something preceding it, but firmly that human beings exist in a continuum, where the events of our lives are known to us in our dreams well before they actually happen.
Talking about interpretation of dreams, if you start trying to interpret them they become more vivid.
Danger on the roads must surely deserve forewarning in your dream time even if you are not prepared to accept the level of danger in daily life!
