58cm or 22 3/4" Paul Donahue Road Bike

Postby martin biggs » 8 Dec 2018, 4:56pm

I saved this from a fairly local garage a couple of weeks ago after a few years of non use .

Turn of the century ( i think ) Paul Donahue road bike made with non lugged Reynolds 631 tubing that includes an oversized down tube . Finished in a patriotic Red , White and Blue colour scheme which i think is in a very good condition a couple of small chips to the paint in various places . There are what look to be circles in the white area's which i can't make out what they are .

Mudguard eyes front and rear so would make an ideal winter or commuting bike with ease . Measures 22 3/4" or just under 58 cm from centre of crank to centre of seat pinch bolt and a long 24" or 61 cm along the top tube centre to centre and has a standover height of 32" or 81 cm . Fitted with a Campagnolo Record triple crank with 53/ 42 / 30 rings and 170 mm arms , both mechs are also Record items with the rear being what looks like to have a carbon face plate as do the Record Stl levers . Campagnolo Daytona calipers fr & rr which could do with new pads soon . Chain shows between 50 - 70% on my chain checker . Wheels are Campagnolo hubbed ( i think Record ) laced to Mavic cxp 33 rims .

110 mm unbranded stem , Black Ritchey wsc drops that are 44 cm outside edge to edge blue bar tape in useable condition . Two sets of bottle cage mounts (please note no cages included ) . Very good condition Selle Italia pro link saddle on an unbranded seat post that is free to move & adjust . Tyres are used Specialized Espoir black belt x 2 tyres of 700 x 25 size .

I have only ridden this for about 25 miles and apart from what feels like a stiff link every 3 or 4 th rotation of the crank rides very nice indeed . I was told that at the end of 2017 it was serviced with all new cables , bottom bracket and other unknown parts fitted then used a few times and then not used till i bought it .

Asking £275 for this rare hand made machine collected from nn8 Wellingborough Post code , if required could be packed and boxed with a 2 - 3 day courier for an extra £35 .
