Don't use it on my Garmin anymore.
I do it with Osmand on the phone, but for creating routes with Mapsource, remains an unbeatable map.

Re: Openfietsmap - map data updates
People are adding to and correcting OSM all the time, so it gets bigger. Maybe the Mallorquin have been busy?
I am NOT a cyclist. I enjoy riding a bike for utility, commuting, fitness and touring on tout terrain Rohloff, Brompton M3 and Wester Ross 354 plus a Burley Travoy trailer.
Re: Openfietsmap - map data updates
Updated my Garmin Edge 810 with both the GB and Majorca (Balearics) maps. Need to use an SD card as the onboard storage isn't big enough for these maps.plancashire wrote: ↑27 Mar 2023, 5:46pmPeople are adding to and correcting OSM all the time, so it gets bigger. I haven't been to Majorca since pre-Covid and don't know when my next visit will be.
Hopefully will be able to ride the many lanes in warm dry weather again.
I doubt there will have been many map changes on Majorca since the EU stopped giving out improvement subsidies a few years back.
You'll never know if you don't try it.

gratuitous shoehorning of brexit reference alert, even if the other way than usual

Re: Openfietsmap - map data updates
Nout to do with Brexit. Just general economics at the time. 6-7 years back.
There were all sorts of improvements being made on the island. Motorway connections. Railways being expanded. Country lanes (Cami's) being tarmacked. That all but stopped mid-nineties. Even so still much better than the roads and lanes in our area.
The one drawback - it can be too hot.

fair dos.
at the risk of extending divert - try sardinia - also very hot, also lots of EU funded stuff in the past, last time I checked still plenty of way for OSM to go - lots and lots of blank/'ere be demons areas.
back to thread - openfietsmap recommended to all
