Does anyone know whats more efficient and safest, paniers or a trailer
(eg Bob Yak) as I am hoping to do the end to end next summer.

The end to end certainly shouldn't need a trailer. I did 6000 miles on super C front & rear panniers and barbag. If you hostel or B&B you could probably manage with just small rear panniers or saddlebag. Nothing beats ultralight touring.

absolutely right, andy. no need to take a trailer. if the space is available you'll fill it and you don't need that much stuff for a british tour, even the e2e. try to minimise your luggage and you'll enjoy the trip rather than finding it a struggle.

I have just completed John O'Groats-Land's End. No need for a trailer, except if you take your dog with you....Jean.
