So can I confirm that it is legal to listen to music whilst cycling? I had wondered how you would specify it to be illegal. I believe using a mobile phone whilst cycling is also legal.

lid not just a contraction of skid lid
Skidlid... pantop... topknot...head.... helmet.
There has to be a rhyme! I'll look it up in a cockney rhyming dictionary.

after consulting a police officer friend of mine, i have learnt that listening to music isnt technically illegal, it just not recomended
however when on a road a push bike is treated as a vehicle just the same a a car or moterbike, and if your unfortunate enough to upset a stropy policeman whilst you are on the road he can get you done for driving without due care and attention
and if you happen to be in an accident whilst listening to music, this will almost certainly not do you any favours should the incident end up in court, and you could be charged for dangerous driving.
it all sound a bit crazy to me, but hey, thats UK law for you
