[First submitted to the touring forum. Apologies for the confusion.]
Hi all, just two weeks until I start touring your beautiful country and one of the minor things still left to figure out is what power adaptor to bring. My charging equipment has “Schuko” (CEE 7/3 and 7/4) type connectors only.
During previous tours on the continent I found a P+N+E, 6h adaptor (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEC_60309#Blue_P+N+E,_6h) handy as some campsites only provide that kind of outlet. I also have a BS 1363 adaptor.
Which adaptor would be useful in the UK when I’m planning on camping every day?

Re: Power outlets on UK campsites
You won't find many sockets that a SchuKo plug will fit in the UK.
BS1363 are the norm indoors and should work with your adaptor, provided you're not drawing too large a current. There's no issue with phase neutral reversal like there's is using BS1363 with an adaptor in a SchuKo socket.
There are some domestic outdoor BS1363 sockets, but they rely on a closing cover for water protection - doubt they'd work with an adaptor.
CEEFORM 16A Blue seems to be fairly common on campsites.

PS I believe CEEFORM is the type in your IEC standard

Re: Power outlets on UK campsites
Can anyone explain whether we are talking about electric hook-ups here or just the normal domestic indoor points?
I'm reading into the OP's post that there is something to be routinely expected here when in fact campsite experience can differ wildly (for either sort of power point).

Re: Power outlets on UK campsites
How much power do you need ??
If you are trying to keep an E-bike charged while camping then the outdoor blue plug is the way to go.
I've seen that done.
But the extra cost may well double the price of an overnight pitch.
If you just want to keep portable devices charged then a couple of big cache batteries is probably easier.
Then either ....
Just ask in reception if they can charge one overnight while you use the other.
Or if it's a quiet site then plug it in to a socket in the toilet block overnight.
I've used both methods as applicable.
YMMV ...........

I've always found that a polite and quiet request to the site manager will get your ebike battery charged overnight for nothing. A quid or so in their charity box.....

I thought about adding that you may be able to talk the cost down a bit.
But never having to do it for power ,only the overnight cost of a silly expensive site, I wasn't sure it was possible.
My record is around 50-50 price wise.
But it's still good to know it's possible ............
