Frame size query

Hi,
apologies if this is in the wrong section, but...
I've been offered aJoe Waugh bike with a frame size of 56cm (C-T). My inside leg measurement is roughly 85cm. I recently tried a 57cm C-C bike and that felt slightly too large! So I've always taken 57cm C-T as the ideal size for me, is the C-C measurement more important? The reason I ask is because Joe Waugh frames have short seat tubes, i.e. a Raleigh has about 0.5" between C-C and C-T, on Waugh's the difference is smaller.
Do you think 56cm C-T would fit me?
