So he's using the coronation of the King as a justification for not losing his license! Bring in VSPs and let him drive a VSP.

Is he really going to be driving at the coronation? No chauffeur?

Edit: He got banned anyway, despite trying to hang on the coat-tail of the new King. He chose to use a mobile phone whilst driving and then tried to squirm out of it using King as a "cover".
I guess that most people in that position would have tried the same as part of their defence.

We've just had a massive demonstration that many think that some people are more important than others because of who their parents were.

Yes we have - demonstrated by 10,000s of people, most of whom are on the "less important" side of the fence. And probably millions more nodding agreement at home, watching the telly.

(Of course, it's a bit more nuanced than "more important than others because of who their parents were.", but I agree with your general point.)

It is most definetly a fact of our society, ours perhaps more than most with our devotion to a royal blood line, but common to most I think

.people of good breeding, tend to get a better deal in the courts, than the more common or garden potential criminals. Defence solicitors will commonly point this out to the court, in a round about way.

Once after a somewhat enthuastic driving I was pulled over by a policeman of high rank, who said you seem like a good chap, based on my exspensive car, my good suit and the fact I dropped my street manc accent and sent me on my way.

When similar happened in a rather battered focus, I was rammed , dragged out of the car and handcuffed on the floor seemingly because was wearing a base ball cap and driving an old car added to they had followed me up a street of very nice houses, which they assumed I couldn't possible live at and was thus trying to escape

So he was found guilty of an offence, just like any Joe Public driver should have been.

But you're STILL angry about the monarchy!!!
I'm angry that this individual felt he could us his position within the monarchy to wiggle out of the consequences of his actions.

I'm a gret fan of them as it completely removes the "excuse" so many people use to avoid losing their licence from driving offences. They "I need to drive for my job/charity work ..." and how "others will suffer" - all irrelevant as they can switch to driving a VSP.

When petrol heads face losing their licence for serial offences (e.g. Steve Coogan) they can't start "I need to film a TV series" and get to keep their licence - switch to a VSP (https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/9712453/s ... -speeding/).

Not only that sometimes it works. A man l used to work with, after a series of fines and points for speeding, finally came to having his licence taken away. At court he pleaded exceptional hardship, mainly because he was a divorced man with a daughter he had weekend access to and a car helped with that.

I liked the bloke, but really couldn't believe he'd escaped a ban with an excuse like that.

The Monarch has just removed royal titles from four grandchildren.

That's enough nit-picking, Mr Squares!

I'm just grateful for this comprehensive ROYAL NEWS Feed - it's saving me a lot of money in newspapers :)

That didn't take long.

Although I don't like Charles, he would have made a lot more sense and come across a lot better than Mistrust. Plus he'd probably have said "We need to X ..." while UK Gov. makes cuts to budgets for X.

She's likely just protecting her own image.
