Driving along The Mall, eh? That's pretty direct! I wonder if Her Maj was watching the bus from an upstairs window?

I see that despite previously saying he was “willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations if required”. Randy Andy is now refusing to cooperate with US investigators into the Jeffrey Epstein case
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/prince-andrew-jeffrey-epstein-us-inquiry-a9389201.html wrote:Prince Andrew won’t voluntarily cooperate in Epstein inquiry, says US prosecutor
...
Prince Andrew has “completely shut the door” on cooperating with investigators in the Jeffrey Epstein case, US lawyer Geoffrey Berman said.

The prince previously commented in November that he was “willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations if required”.
...
The prosecutor said: “Contrary to Prince Andrew’s very public offer to cooperate with our investigation into Epstein’s co-conspirators, an offer that was conveyed via press release, Prince Andrew has now completely shut the door on voluntary cooperation and our office is considering its options.”

So they [Royals] seem to regard laws and legal process as beneath them; and we are paying for them.

Hi,
Without his silence and denial he will simply be torn to shreds.
I have no doubt that he will be protected to the hilt by the Royals and even our own government law et cetera.
He will simply have to remain in privacy for his own good.
His words that stick in my mind are Words to this effect – "in hindsight I would still have known him "

It's just a variation of "better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than open it and remove all doubt" (But with more sexual content)

After his last attempt at opening his mouth can you blame him?

I know they're related (though possibly not by blood), but I won't be grouping Andrew with Harry/William in any other way. They behave like different species.

Maybe, but what with 'democracy' becoming so flawed and toxic in these enlightened days of ours (see other threads) - maybe it's time to return to an Absolute Monarchy à la Charles I et al. Anyone buy into that  ? Would Charles III fit the bill as Absolute Monarch? There are some things I like about the chap (whilst I can't say much for Liz & co.).

Of course there's always the risk of a latter-day Cromwell II (should that be "Cromwell III"?) rearing his ugly head...

(N.B. I'm posting this from the position of a committed republican... )

I see that HM the Q did her weekly Johnson audience by phone.

Sounds like a plan. Retreat to one of your palaces with your servants. Acres to walk around.

And if they'd met directly you, or some other contrarian, would tell us they weren't heeding the government's own advice.
