Saddlebag required - but which?

Post by sukuinage »

Hi,

I'm planning to do some "credit card" touring of up to a week's duration and would like to buy a Carradice bag for the trip but am not sure what the correct size would be, Nelson, Camper, longflap versions etc. I was planning on the Nelson longflap so does anyone know if it will cope with the following planned kit?:

Extra cycling top & shorts
Waterproof
Jacket
T-shirt
Trousers
Sandals
2 pairs boxer shorts
1 pair socks
Washkit

Camera, mobile, 1st aid kit etc. will go in my handlebar bag.

Is there much of an advantage in buying the Bagman over the SQR fitting or does it just look fancier?

Thanks for the quick answer and the link; thought 18 litres should about do it. I don't want to buy too big a bag as I'll only fill it with things I don't need.
Plan is for the tools, tubes etc. to go in the pockets. I tend not too carry too much - that's what the mobile phone is for :D
Any idea of the best (most reasonable) place to buy? Was looking at Spa cycles. Need mail order as I live in Germany.
