Replacement clips for Halford Commuter mudguards

Hi
I just bought and, mostly, installed a set of these:
https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-p ... dguard-setUnfortunately, one of the clips that holds the stays on to the mudguard snapped during fitting - annoying as I was being v careful.
Anyway, can anyone recommend a generic clip that will secure a stainless steel stay to a mudguard?
Even better, does anyone have a spare one from a Halfords one that they would be prepared to send me please.......?
Many thanks, Tim

FWIW this method of securing the stays is not fit for purpose.Nothing is secured in a positive way.All plastic fittings do not bode well ,I,ve had these things and they didn,t last.Sorry!!

Take them back and get a refund as they are not fit for purpose. Then buy a decent pair like SKS or Bluemels. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Unfortunately none of the major manufacturers make a suitable set. I've looked.
I'm fitting them to a gravel bike which has a close clearance at the front, disc brakes, mid-leg fork bosses, and no rear guard bosses. The Halfords set is perfect as it is very customisable and comes with a myriad of actually very good fittings for attaching the stays to the frame.
Luckily Stronglight seem to make exactly what I need so have ordered them.

I gave my son in law a pair of 45mm wide silver SKS mudguards for his disc braked gravel bike. They were intended for my tourer, but they seem to do the job well on the gravel bike (GT Grade). You could go wider if using wider tyres. A special clamp/bridge is needed to fit where the seat stay bridge would normally be.

I'd get a refund and get SKS/Bluemels, they fit on anything (sometimes the stays need bending around disc brakes etc). They come in various widths to match your tyre width.
Also with SKS/Bluemels you get a sensibly long front mud guard (even then I'd fit a mud flap on the bottom), the photo of the bike in the link shows how short the front mud guard is (I recon spray from the front wheel will get almost up to the back brake.... .. but most of the spray will go over your feet and your chain, so after 1 winter commuting, it'll (probably) be a new chain)
Those plastic brackets (and the same in other designs) are awful. The only way I get spare ones of these at work is from discarded scrap mud guards, which saves some customers some money (but not those customers who have "donated" the spares in the first place!).

To be fair to Halfords they have been helpful and supplied new clips. The guards now fit very well without any undue stresses on the fittings.
Took them on a long and rough ride today and all good.

Hi Gaz, thanks for the helpful suggestion by the way. I bought a pair of stronglight ones which actually work very well and will be my back up if I have any issues. Thanks again.
