Speaking for the Government, Newly qualified Nurses, Radiographers, Physiotherapists, or any of the Allied Health Professions are not skilled enough to be eligible to enter the UK under the new Government immigration scheme

Just seen Johnson at PMQs and press conference on the news.
He's totally out of his depth.
Upbeat [bovine excrement] doesn't cut it on a pandemic, and he's got nothing else to offer.

I agree and I think that is what is causing a lot of the panic buying in supermarkets - lack of confidence in the Government seeing that things will be OK.
He could offer leadership and have things thought though a bit better. e.g. Everybody has known for sometime that schools would need to be closing but he just highlights how unprepared they are. Obvious things like "what about kids of free school meals" - Gov. has plenty of time to make plans but has no plans. He claimed it was bringing the closure forward so why no plans?

Exactly. Those who recently voted for boris.gov.uk and displayed their full support and confidence in his ability to steer the good ship DV United KIngdom through the murky turbid waters of Brexit, are by spending money with businesses, now displaying their fullest support and confidence in boris.gov.uk to steer the good ship DV United Kingdom through the perilous bug infested waters of covid-19.

The Tories from Cameron - possibly from Thatcher - through May and now Johnson have consistently undermined the state, preferring the market.
The market is quite evidently incapable of humanity or of even vaguely addressing today's huge needs. But the concept of state has been lost. Johnson just doesn't get it.
So he closes schools within a plan. He doesn't get round to providing either CV tests or protective kit for medical staff. He tells people not to go to pubs but doesn't tell the pubs. He offers businesses with no income further debt. He plays catch up all the time.

Braggadocio and chutzpah have long been regarded by Tory Hooray Henries and Henriettas as the only necessary "virtues" for the Party Political, which generally follows the Bullingdon model of Partying. "What good chaps", opine large sections of the electorate, as the various Tory Party comics portray this chutzpah and braggadocio as a sign that them Tories are just "one of the lads (or ladettes)". "I once new a football hooligan just like that Boris - what a wag he was, with his bootings".
Unlike Old Model Tory, the New Model has no competence at anything but smashing up the restaurant then beating up a few of the hoi-polloi on the way home for a final snifter and an inept fumble at the latest mistress or toyboy before bedtime.
The Gremlin watches all this, along with other foolishly boastful human bellowing about. The Gremlin's job is to arrange the pratfalls for them all. Sadly, when government ministers make a mass pratfall, the rest of us tend to get squashed by their trip & splat.

On Iona today, where the late John Smith is buried
How many of today’s politicians would earn his epitaph
“An honest man’s the noblest work of God”

As Dr. Johnson (a very different character to Piffle though he was what was called a Tory in his day) said,
You may scold a carpenter who has made you a bad table, though you cannot make a table. It is not your trade to make tables.

If Johnson really believed that people shouldn't mass in pubs he would close them.

That doesn't of course state that he was an honest man, he may or may not have been.
He can be held up as a model because he was untested in holding office. Because he died prematurely we don't know whether he would have made dodgy compromises in office, gone to war in Iraq, or been hammered in the expenses scandal.
Politicians from George Galloway to Ken Livingstone to Alex Salmond have at one time been lauded for their grounded approach and seeming honesty. History hasn't been as kind.
