We have just been issued with a weather warning for Thunder and Lightning for Somerset. I've heard a few rumbles in the distance too. If I don't post again you will all know why.

Back home now. Got to the event, after 10 mins lightning followed by heavy rain. Event cancelled so we decamped to a friend's house to enjoy our picnic.
The heavy rain which is still continuing was never forecast but the lightning has passed. 8)

Absolutely hammering it down at this very moment. Bucketing it down!
Heavy showers from yesterday afternoon, all night, and all day today.

Our next-door neighbours have gone to Cornwall for a week. Their son who has stayed at home says they've had nothing but rain. Meanwhile, we've had fine weather.

Cold and miserable at home but here in Yorkshire the sun is splitting the stones!

Your weather is literally day and night to ours.
I am here. Where are you?

Perfect cycling weather in North Wales. I am just back from a 50 mile ride around the Denbigh Moors.

I had to giggle at the online weather forecasts this morning.
BBC vs Met Office.

Tamar Valley Mining District is where we live, though the weather station is up the hill west of here, and not in the Tamar Valley.
I don't know where the weather station is for Tavistock.

Tavistock is the nearest BBC forecast point to here in Gunnislake, but it's only three miles to the east of here.

Look at the two forecasts!
At this very moment, it hasn't had the slightest chance of raining, and it's bright with a hazy cloud. 20degC.

This is always happening in the west of the county too.

Cool refreshing rain to end the warm spell, hardly a heatwave, in North Wales this morning.

Lovely! :D
Bring it on!

26degC outside now, and 23degC here in the livingroom.
All windows and doors are open and it's lovely.
Walked the doggie earlier 4.4miles, and he's asleep now and I'm sitting here starkers. :D

Rode 22miles yesterday in 20odd degC heat. Steep hills, and city streets.
The problem is, most folk live in cities, and the buildings heat up in the hot weather, then radiate the heat overnight.
Moral of this, is to NOT live in a city.

Mrs Mick F was in The Gambia for three months, working in 45deg heat, and working inside a 40ft steel container too.

Very windy on top of this hill overlooking Taunton but the temperatures a nice fresh 24 degrees. Our cedar is the tallest tree around but it survives high winds easily. A branch snapped off one of our pear trees overloaded with pears. Dried out green leaves are everywhere on the ground on the local dog walk

A UK summer's day; overcast, grey skies, light rain throughout the central part of the day. Though heat is clearly building up; a thermometer on an exposed "sunny" windowsill, was showing 23 degree's by 2.30pm. Hopefully it'll have cooled down by now

We're not used to temperatures like this in the North, can humans survive in heat of this sort? It's notable that I only saw one person wearing a woolly hat, when doing the shopping this afternoon
