Richard Ingram recalled Lord Gnome's organ's parody of The Sun at the time of the Falklands War.
"Kill an Argie and win a Metro".

I attended a spin class at the local sports centre then had a chat with a couple of regulars whom I’ve never spoken with before. What started as a genial conversation suddenly came to an abrupt halt when one of them, not 10 mins after he had stepped off a gym bike, started on an anti-cyclist rant!
The older I get the more I’m inclined to act my shoe size, not my age.
Re: What Has Made You Laugh Today ?
To follow that my workmate who does spin classes regularly was at his class last week and heard a big thump behind his bike. A big chap had managed to fall off his bike landing on the floor like a crashed helicopter - one foot still in the toe strap.peetee wrote: ↑13 Nov 2023, 7:19am I attended a spin class at the local sports centre then had a chat with a couple of regulars whom I’ve never spoken with before. Someone on the tele said " should we bring Boris back ?" With lightning reaction my wife shouts "NO!" -- she scared the wits out me.

Guilty.
From memories of my time staying in Scotland I recall such lines as:-
"You cannae throw your granny off a bus."
And
"She's nae hairy Mary, she's your Maw."

For terribly awful politically incorrect and scatalogical Scottish humour I will recommend the "Still Game" series available to all via BBC iPlayer. Modern folk of a sensitive or soft southern jessie ilk may be shocked, horrified and traumatised, so best to watch The Vic of Dib instead (which is also very funny but ..... nice).Mike Sales wrote: ↑18 Nov 2023, 11:37amGuilty.
