Lorry stuck on narrow country lane near Wellington in Somerset

These vehicles often do multi-pickups of single cars that have been sold via ‘we buy any car’ type traders. The driver was probably told the access was fine (and it was) but wasn’t given any info on how to get out afterwards. Having been a delivery driver myself it’s common to have many awkward routes and sometimes you got totally fed up of it, or rather, the system that allows it to happen and the pressure you are under to complete the job. It wouldn’t surprise me if some drivers just resign themselves to failure with that particular employer and just abandon the truck at the worst possible place for them to sort out the resultant mess.
I saw one of those "we buy any car " boys picking up a car just the other day and was surprised to see that they were using a type of box van for the job. Very similar to a Tesco fridge van rather than a vehicle recovery truck.

I suppose it's so they can advertise on the side of the box part, which certainly worked as I noticed it wondering how the driver was going to get out of the car once inside. Maybe it's just wide enough.

That's how my car was delivered just after Lockdown 1.I was surprised as I thought it was just for the TV ad but they have one,two and three car wagons.Plenty of room for the delivery driver to get into the car!He then drove my old car into the wagon and off he went. It's to make sure the vehicle is clean and picks up no stonechips etc on delivery.

Children at Mrs rjb school were doing a project on Parliament. When someone searched on "Big Ben" there were more than a few red faces in shock.

I once tried to look up a song writer called Andreas Blackwood ----- NO! Had to type in his website address in full to get to it.

NASA's inability to film the globe from 360 degrees 99 times in 8K HD @ 300 different distances & angles.

Because i just feel the current vids & pictures of the globe seam to be as grainy as ' life on earth ' nature series & CGI just doesn't do the abyss plateau justice imho ...

Just saying ...

Nice jibe about Tree-Frog in The Observer.
Robert Harris once used a John le Carré line to describe Jacob Rees-Mogg: “He’s a barmaid’s idea of a gentleman.”
