They're hard to come by
With ours, he's the first Border Collie we've owned that you can point the direction for him to go.
All the others - four before him - always looked at your finger.
He understands "This way!" or "Away!"

BTW, he cost £150 from a farm in Devon.

Not exactly a laugh, but certainly a delighted snort.
Watching Saving Lives at Sea I heard the cox of the Thurso lifeboat say that, with a big tide and a strong wing opposing, the seas in the Pentland Firth can get "quite big".
The Admiralty Pilot book, not given to hyperbole, says, "the eddies and races give rise to extraordinarily violent and confused seas at times. ...extremely dangerous to small vessels which may become umanageable."
Highland reticence!
It's the same the whole world over
It's the poor what gets the blame
It's the rich what gets the pleasure
Isn't it a blooming shame?

 Excellent!

(The Tarka joke is an old favourite, but I don't think I'd heard of the Pelikan before ...)

Ooh you rebel, you! There's no telling YOU what to do, is there? Do you stick two fingers up behind policemen's backs? Please tell us some tales; we need escapism from our dull lives!

We rarely - if ever - see a policeman or a policewoman.
If we ever do, we clap and smile!

We recon there are two here ...............but generally conspicuous by their absence.

Devon and Cornwall Police.
One each.
