Does a Giant OD2 fork fit the older TCR frames that came with OD?

Hi.
I picked up a 10 year old Giant TCR Advanced recently. I love how it rides, but I'd like to replace the fork as I have no knowledge of its past.
My bike has the OD headset which I believe is 1 1/4" - 1 1/8".
I can't find an OD fork, but there are plenty of OD2 (current model) forks available. OD2 I believe is 1 1/2" - 1 1/4".
I read on-line (so it must be true) that an OD2 fork can replace an OD with (different bearings size obviously). Is it likely that the larger diameter steerer will fit my old (OD) frame?
