We never buy cats, we just wait for them to turn up. Our last cat arrived just before Christmas one year, stayed with us for 13 years, until we had to have her put down due to old age. She probably had cat dementia (she went outside and sat in a plastic crate which had about an inch of water in the bottom). Our present cat (all black) recently turned up and has taken up residence. We also have a couple of visitors from next door but one, a ginger tom named "Ginger" and a tabby named "Missie". Both were feral cats in Dubai, adopted by our neighbours and imported into this country along with another named "Jules" (all black). Where we live we seem to get people dumping cats.
