I have 2 bikes, a steel framed tourer (Edinburgh cycles) which I use for leisure rides and a Giant alloy framed hybrid which I use for my commute. I could easily manage on either but I like to keep my tourer for "best", it's my going out bike.....

The one thing to learn from AW's bike is that the most important part is the engine!

Cheap envoy to but and run -8 speed

Alu frame, carbon forks and disc brakes.

I would want a longer stem and spd pedals

A fellow I know, bought a house, not telling the wife,
and proceeded to stuff it full of bikes,
mostly still boxed, used bikes, bought from various forums.
He also hid a vintage car there.
Needless to say when the wife found out, he was out on his a***.

2014 Salsa Vaya. Steel frame. 9 speed, triple chainset. Mechanical disk brakes. Can fit 40mm tyres so suitable for a variety of terrain.

Nice to ride loaded and unloaded.
